Remembering the Late Patrick Ottensmeyer, Company Board Member and Industry Leader
LOWELL, Ark., July 29, 2024 – J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. (NASDAQ: JBHT), one of the largest supply chain solutions providers in North America, today issued the following statement in response to the recent passing of its board member Patrick Ottensmeyer:
“We are greatly saddened to learn of the recent passing of J.B. Hunt Board Member Patrick Ottensmeyer. Patrick joined the J.B. Hunt Board of Directors earlier this year following a 17-plus year career with Kansas City Southern where he served as president and CEO from 2015 to 2023, shaping the rail industry into what it is today. Additionally, he helped oversee the completion of one of the largest rail mergers in recent times, resulting in the creation of Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) in 2023.
“Among his many career accomplishments, Patrick received the North American Rail Shippers Association Edward R. Hamberger Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 and the Ingram’s Executive of the Year Award in the prior year. In 2022, he and Keith Creel, then president and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Pacific (CP), earned Railway Age’s Co-Railroaders of the Year Award, in connection with the CP and KCS merger.
